teachers day!

Well, today is teacher's day, everyone =)
wanna say heaps of thanks for all my teachers, you are leading me into a maturity.

I know that being a teacher is very, very hard, I have experienced it. And I wonder why I was so eager to be a teacher.

on swinging friends' blog, there's a post asking who the most impressive of ours is. And I'm... speechless.
well, I used to be a teacher lover, I'm very close with my teachers, it makes my friends wonder why. since I was in Elementary school, i've been becoming a teacher-lover, who've always been the first to inform the class that the teacher is going to celebrate his/her birthday.

let me begin with the favorite teacher I had back in 2000, when I was in elementary school, the late MI Jenderal Sudirman Malang (well, my school is already dismissed)

Meet bu Ufi Nuskhayati :)

She was and IS a multitalented teacher and knows how to handle the uncontrolled class. She is very, very interesting and makes the Bahasa Indonesia class she conducts so fun. She gave me a chance to express myself by the role plays she wrote. Then finally I discovered that I have an ability in acting. somehow I feel so long to act in a play, though...
thanks bu ufi for showing me that I'm talented. until now, I still have a strong willing to perform on stages, either to sing, dance, or act, no matter those akhwats will say, I want to perform.

3 years later I experienced my preteen phase. I was studying at SMPN 11 Malang at that time, when that life-changing moment happened.
I had a big quarrel with my family. my parents were almost divorced. I was so depressed. I was the victim of mom's fury and hatred towards dad. She blamed me for an unknown reason. She didn't understand me. therefore, the labile me cried and searched for a shoulder to cry on. unfortunately, my friends didn't gave me a proper solution. yeah - because their lifestyle is different with me. I live in a housing complex which residents are introvert. while them, they live in a village which neighbors are still their relative, and everytime a conflict happens, it turns into a gossip quickly spread all over the village. so, They can't solve my problems.
then I ran to my class advisor. She's Bu Sugi, a biology teacher.

I told her all the problems I have. I drowned in a deep cry. I hugged her. she gave me a love that i haven't had before, even from my mom. So, was I wrong for loving her?
For she had cured my pains that well, no wonder, I who was still 13 years old then considered her as a mom . And I told her, "I wish you were my mom, ma'am".
What do you think about that sentence? it sounds like joke or just a rhetorical question, ain't it? but the labile me took it seriously. I did wish that she was. She knew it, and so did my parents! she told about it when my parents took my report card.
You know what happened then. I was scolded. My parents' emotion exploded. they swore at me as if I am the most unthankful person on earth. again, I felt so damn depressed. I cried and tried to concentrate on my study, but I couldn't.
But later my parents realized that it was also their mistake. their 'war' caused me feel down, depressed and drown into a big disappointment. However, my parents still feel upset hearing me having a phone call with Bu Sugi and I had a very friendly conversation, moreover hearing the way I address her: Mom.
and their upset feeling when seeing me preparing for her birthday every november 30th.

But, still, she's my favorite. even until I'm a 12 grader and about to graduate, I'm still contacting her.
then college life brings me to a more hectic lifestyle. Spending my days from dawn to dusk doing my assignment-related things. since I am attending college, my life is much more busier, and simply I don't have much time to contact her. but, still, I'm loving her the same as I was back then.

Now, let's move to the SMA time. I was a teenager and a little bit more mature.
Then, the impressive teachers I had when I was in high school is, bu r... ARGH, hell yeah!
I guess you have already known her, I mentioned her name so many times in this blog. you know, I started this blog in 2008 when I was just graduated from SMA and my longing feeling on her was on its peak.

this is the design that I made myself of a mug that I gave her on her birthday last January.
It's not as gorgeous as the students of Visual Communication Design's work,
but I'm glad I have designed it.
(Nji, Y U NO Learning more about photoshop??)

OK, I don't want to talk too much about that-very-physics-teacher-which-is-the-first-hijab-wearing-chinese-that-i-know, and I don't want to tell you when her birthday is and what I have given to her.
not about her husband whom I was wrong on guessing his name (Ffffuuuuuuu.....). not about her third pregnancy she had back in 2008. No!!
not those stuffs that I have written so much in this blog. the point is, she is an integration of Chinese exoticism, Javanese modesty, and the charm of a Muslimah.
I'm NOT being racist! she herself ADMITS that she's chinese and she says that its OK to call her that way! I have witnessed some of my teachers calling her 'Cik', or 'Tacik'.
But I'm not allowed to do so. OK, I don't want to talk more things about her.

more favorite teachers in SMA, nji?

I have, of course.

meet bu Retno =) my Bahasa Indonesia teacher who loooooooooooooves my self-cooked foods! I-i-i-i-i-i become so tempted to COOK moreeeeeeeeeee. but - again, this hectic lifestyle as a legatoer and a part-time teacher requires me to be away from home from morning to dawn.
then, bu oris. Well, she has lived in Japan. I want to be like her someday. Japaaaaaaaaannnnn xD~
The weird fact about her is that she isn't able to eat with chopsticks although she has lived in Japan for several years. I once competed with her on eating a bowl of noodles and I WON! hahahaa, and the other teachers wondered why did Bu Oris is unable to eat with chopstick.
Dear, I miss the times when I competed with her...

The photoscape work I made back in 2009! hwaahaha..
many people are so keen on photoscape and I WAS one of them.

OK, that's a brief explanation of the teachers I love.

Now, let me talk about bu sugi - whom I loved like a daughter loving her mom.
Her daughter is now a 12 grader and her scores are poor. therefore, she needs me to tutor her daughter, Mega, for English subject. I said OK. who doesn't want to work for the people s/he loves?
then she said this "later I talked to mega that you will tutor her. I wanna make sure that you have changed, not the same Angie that used to be so spoiled to me. I wanna tell her that you are now more mature. You're still a teacher lover, huh? what are you doing to the teachers you love? still the same with me?"

I said, "No, mom. everything has change since I leave"

am I really-really that changed?

Well, I remember the last time I stuck at English Self Access Center bringing the design of Legato's T-shirt and showed it enthusiastically to my favorite lecturers. I really want them to have the same T-shirts with us.
I remember when I talked about the lecturers with my friends and tell them many trivial things about my lecturers. "Hey, Bu X joined this club, you know. Hey, Mr. Z talked about this news in his status. Hey, Bu T gains more weight when she does blablablabla. hey, Bu Y was a member of this blablabla."
My friends wondered why do I know those kind of things. they guess that I am that keen on those lecturers.
Hey, those things are posted in their FB, huh. Y U NO check their status updates?
some lecturers are active facebookers. and the most active facebooker is, Pak Arif Subiyanto, my favorite lecturer! I like him and am always commenting almost every of his status updates!! it helps me on developing my critical thinking. I admit it!
proud to have him, cz I'm also a facebook lover.
(well, I'm still a teacher-lover anyway, huhuhu)

I'm taking his 2 classes, journalism and translation 1, and.. Hey! he gives me an assignment that I actually have to work on!

OK. to cut the long story, here is the link of the kaskus thread talking about pak Arif, written by mbak Nine Febrie Novitasari, an English Department alumni. You'll find out why do many students love him, and so do I!

That's a brief information about my favorite teachers. it's already 2.am in the morning. the last one-third of the night, when God comes to grant all of our wishes...

Lord, I only wish a prosperity, health, and Your endless love to all my teachers who had opened my eyes to this world. I thank them for all these valuable things of life.
Lord, I have experienced it myself that being a teacher is very hard. If it is my path, show me the way how to deal with it.

IT'S 2.30 AM... ANGIE! Y U NO WORKING ON YOUR JOURNALISM ASSIGNMENT? FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
