Late post: now working as an English Teacher...... an unpaid one. Yes, volunteering.

Dear, several days before I had my sotsugyoushiki, I updated a facebook status stating my desperate feeling. I was frustrated and desperate due to my jobless status. About 20 cover letters were sent to schools and institutions, several interviews and tests were held but resulted to none. I was also trying to search for some scholarships for pursuing my M.A, but unfortunately M.A. in ELT in State University of Malang is not registered in all the domestic-study scholarships held by the government. For pursuing M.A., I believe that studying GRE for registering in USA universities can't be done instantly. I need more, more tedious exercises on preparing myself for that test. Simply, I was in such a depressing situation that I couldn't help myself to let my anger exploded in my facebook status. at about 85 comments came to encourage me and gave me insights in searching a better career and, oh - a good trick to apply for a job in schools. I really thanked my friends and senior who gave me valuable advises to consider.

Hearing me in a troubled situation, Endah offered me to fill a vacancy in her school, they need an English teacher. she told me every single thing regarding the school's condition. It is Madrasah Terpadu Al Hamid, which belongs to an Islamic boarding school named PP Sabilul Huda. Well, this is the second time I work for Islamic school. I don't mean to underestimate or to humiliate their image, but this school is literally in a poor condition - their walls are still bricks, no floors, and yeah - I feel like I'm having an SM3T but the location is not that remote nor isolated, no. It is located in Bumiayu, Kedungkandang. Well, it is 22km away from my home.

the school is managed under an institution named "Yayasan Sosial Al Hamid". See? SOCIAL it is. the students do not pay any single buck for pursuing their education, and even they are given a set of uniforms, books, and stationaries - for FREE. Also, the teachers are unpaid. Sometimes we are paid with a sack of rice and instant noodles.
Am I desperate for having this situation? In fact, not really.
I believe that working here can also mean being a volunteer. I want to purge all the sins I've made as the Lord's servant. besides that, if I don't grab this chance, I don't know whether there will be another door opened for me.
I also wished that this volunteering work can be a consideration for me when applying a scholarship.
My main purpose of working here is that I need my skill to be trained. To be a good teacher means a lot of practice and it should be done in a real-life teaching, facing real students and to give real tasks. I want to keep on learning and to improve myself on being a teacher. Well, teachers are life-long learners and I strongly believe in that statement.

Dear, I still have a long way to go. I have just graduated two months ago and I still have nothing, and let the new world I face build me into a stronger and a better teacher :)

Late post: Finally, sotsugyoushiki! Graduation Ceremony on September 6th

I couldn't stop repeating this song again and again. Sakura no shiori by AKB48 (err, JKT48 has sung this song also) when I was on the way from the beauty salon to Graha Cakrawala where my sotsugyoushiki was being held. The lyrics told a message saying that graduation is a new beginning to seize our dreams. More than just a diploma to apply for our dream jobs. More than just a chance to pursue a career. More than just this statement: "yeah I've finished all my classes, no more exams, sotsugyoushiki has passed, I simply have nothing to do. Let's be more focused on our passion! yeay, let's craft! yeay, let's write songs! let's lose some weight..." and many more.
Well, sotsugyoushiki is held in every semester. It is common to see the ladies are wearing kebaya and applying a beautiful make-up and to set their hijabs and hairs, and gents are wearing formal suites. But I dunno why I always feel amazed when I feel the atmosphere.... The most exciting point of a sotsugyoushiki is the euphoria. The indescribable feeling when we heard an encouraging speech given by the Rector. When I am ensured that we, GG Fighters Sempak Mamel squad will be reunited easily although we no longer attend the same class. In other words, the lyrics of Sakura no Hanabiratachi by AKB48, which says that graduation means a sad farewell that are mostly welcomed with tears, is just a bunch of.... nonsense.
Because I believe that however away our distance will be, as long as we have a strong willing to keep this friendship, we will be reunited easily. Love you, GG Fighters Sempak Mamel.

I always smile everytime I remember every sequences of my sotsugyoushiki. We were treated like a special people. Regardless the crowd and the humid air we had, and the underwear I wore was too tight, I love the euphoria where finally my five years study came to an end.

I will always remember these sequences to my S.S., S.Pd.

Bismillah, let's welcome a new way ahead!

Gentle breeze of spring
is blowing from somewhere
On the street that we used to walk,
the colour is starting to change

Happiness and sadness are
passing away with the season
We're starting to walk
on a new path

This cherry blossom petal is a
bookmark of parting
It brings back my friends' expression
when they waved their hands
This cherry blossom petal is a
bookmark of tears
So those important moments
won't ever be forgotten...

When I look up to the sky
within such wideness
I'm starting to grasp the length of
this never ending path

Be it sunny day or rainy day,
tomorrow will surely come
So with a smile,
I'm taking one step forward

This cherry blossom petal is a
bookmark of future
To make me remember
the dream I've been longing for
This cherry blossom petal is a
bookmark of hope
Rather than marking the end,
this page is the starting point

This cherry blossom petal is a
bookmark of heart
Where sunlight through the trees
in our sparkling youth looked so dazzling
This cherry blossom petal is a
bookmark of that day
So each and everyone will not forget
their dreams until it's blooming fully

(Sakura no Shiori, English translation)

something called "Late post"

dear, I've left this blog for years and many good things happened during I'm away.
It began two months ago when I had my sotsugyoushiki, continued with an adventure of seeking jobs, met my beloved superstars (both MoccA and JKT48!!), made my thesis advisor shedding his tears, having great colleagues, giving a cute artwork for Mas Gading's daddy, and.... too many to explain while I'm away.
But they are worth to be shared, especially my sotsugyoushiki I had back in september 6th. Lord, I can't keep it myself. I have to share it in these upcoming posts entitled with "late post"

enjoy!

Ballads of a fresh graduate: EDUCATED JOBLESS! aaargh

Howdy, world! It's like I've left this blog for years and here it is, spider webs are - again, hanging :p

To sum up, let me give you a slight update of what had happened during the end of my final semester:

1. Finally, Judicium ceremony on June 25th! achieving a big stone: BEING ONE OF THE BEST GRADUATES!

Lord, It is much beyond my expectation. My GPA is below 3,50 which means my judicium is only Distinction, not Cum laude. I stood there among the other 13 best graduates. Can't thank You more, Lord. Alhamdulillah.....

the best graduates with the dean, vice deans, and all the head-of-departments

some of the graduates of English Department

Alhamdulillah, 6 years studying (1 year in Culinary Department + 5 years in English Department) is finally finished! Let's pursue my next big dreams ahead.....

2. having a temporary job as a tea booth attendant in a college canteen.

one of Ibuk's friends is the owner of a franchised tea product. Yea, a cup of tea with flavors and also cappuccino cincau. the salary is not that much, but I can have bukber in many places with my friends. Also to celebrate my achievement with Ve and Bebsky :D

I finished working as a tea booth attendant when fasting month started to come. This means that I'm a jobless - hopefully a temporary one, amin :(
I've sent like almost 15 cover letters to many schools, hoping that they will recruit me as a teacher. Also, I'm striving for joining CPNS.
Mm, CPNS huh? I actually have no guts on registering it, but all my friends are so damn enthusiastic on welcoming it. Dunno why, but - yeah, I want to teach in that international school, the one with that fancy architecture..... *OK, I don't want to mention the name....*

well, people, should you reading this, please cross your finger for me. I want to get a job! :'(

(as a member of JOT, perhaps? don't you want that?)

DMF48 Delusional project by Angie Pritha #2

Gosh! it's April already. Well, working as a freelance content writer really killed me *not literally murdering, you know, I'm still alive* and I've decided not to take that kind of job again.

For those who've been waiting for the sequel of the previous post (err, do I have any? aaah, whatever!) here we go, the 2nd part of... INTERVIEW WITH THREE MAS KENTHIR!

Angie               : “OK sastra fellas, here we come again with me Angie aaand….”
Wahyu,
Yayak,
Udin                 : “Three Mas Kenthirrr!”
Angie               : “good! This is such an extraordinary trio from our university. Now, I wanna ask about your first stage, where and when was it?”
Yayak              : “Mm it was on 2012 after being the committee of PKPT, the students executive board held an inauguration night for the freshmen, and that was our first performance”
Angie               : “Oh, I remember that moment, the booths from all HMJs are set up ethnically rite?”
Yayak              : “Yes, they were. We had a ‘mission’, to introduce college life for the freshmen. We want to show them that, this is how it feels of being college students”
Angie               : “Didn’t you ‘scare’ them by showing the facts that college students have sleepless nights, facing scary lecturers, doing zillions of assignments, and striving to earn extra pocket money?”
Udin                 : “Mm, mm… We just tried to emphasize that although it feels so hard, but it can be fun, actually. This is the moment that will transform your life a lot, change your personality, and lead to a path when you can finally find your true identity. Therefore, teens, if you want to find yourself, earn an undergraduate degree!”
Angie               : “Waw, that’s kinda… deep”
Wahyu             : “Udin is so deep at many times. His students called him Mario Teguh when he had his teaching practice”
Angie               : “Haha, I have known the way you are, udin. From your facebook statuses and the poems you write”
Yayak              : “The point is that we want to show that college life is hard but fun at the same time. You will miss these times when you grow older. You know, based on the stories of my seniors and my lecturers, the sensation of being an undergraduate, graduate, and post graduate student, is highly different. Therefore, while we are in our undergraduate degree, as we are segmenting ourselves for undergraduate students, let us emphasize it that it is not that scary as long as you can survive being an undergraduate student. Yes, you can make it”
Angie               : “Waw, that’s so true, yayak. Mm, Anyway, time is running out and it is almost 4 o’clock PM, and here are the requests coming to our inbox. The first is from Danti in Sumbersari, she wants MLTR’s song You Took My Heart Away. Mm, unfortunately, we cannot play 90s songs for this music program only play new entries. Next we have Ulin in Gajayana, she wants Tangga’s song Cinta Tak Mungkin Berhenti. She says her hello for Nova, go search for yummy breads for our participants. And this one is from Dwi Zain from Araya, he requests Katy Perry’s song Roar. OK, we will put them on our lists. Here we come to the end of today’s show, thank you very much Three Mas Kenthir, wish you luck for your endeavors. I really appreciate you idea of writing songs about students’ madness. Hope that next time we can cooperate further. Thanks sastrafellas for staying with us….”

DMF48 DELUSIONAL PROJECT by Angie Pritha : #1

I wrote these all is merely because of my longing feeling to DMF48 has turned big like soooo biggggg. I love to remember the good memories I had with them. As a straight woman being a fan of JKT48 and familiar with delusional fanfiction thingies (and mostly the male fans of JKT48 making delusional fanfiction of being the sweetheart of their favorite members, I just gasped and said "OK, that's the way they are, I don't want to make a JKT48 fanfiction, my affection for them is not that big, you know) I understand that I can turn those imaginations into a good writing, why not trying to make one?

Episode: Interview with THREE MAS KENTHIR part 1

(background music: Setapak Sriwedari by Maliq and d’essentials, the coda part. And then comes a jingle, saying “Sastraaaa Radiooooooo, Mbooooisss pooolllll….” Here comes the talkshow on Sastra Radio, hosted by Angie)

Angie                           : “Dear all sastrafellas, thanks very much for staying with us. As what I’ve told you before, we are going to have a special interview with a brand new indie band from malang. Wanna find out who they are? Let’s welcome…. THREE MAS KENTHIR!! Yeaaaa!!”
(clapping hands)
Yayak, Udin, Wahyu    : “Yeeeeeaaaay!”
Angie                           : “Ok, here in our studio, we have three handsome guys coming from Germany Department, right?”
Yayak                          : “Yes, we are”
Udin                             : “We used to be classmates”
Wahyu                         : “HMJ mates as well!”
(all of them laugh out loud)
Angie                           : “Ok, now introduce yourselves to the Sastrafellas out there”
Yayak                          : “Hi, sastrafellas! I’m Wisnu Satria Sejati, you can call me Yayak, I play drum”
Udin                             : “I’m Bahauddin, you can call me Udin, I play guitar as well as being the vocalist”
Wahyu                         : “I’m Wahyu Yudhatmoko, playing bass, as well as the backing vocal”
Angie                           : “OK, good. So, Three Mas Kenthir, everywhere you go, you are always in this formation?”
Udin                             : “Sort of. Yea…. Not necessarily”
Angie                           : “Does it means that you go with your girlfriends sometimes?”
Udin                             : “Girlfriend who?”
Wahyu                         : “Yeah, you know, Angie. Udin’s heart is still broken due to his breakup last semester”
Yayak                          : “Believe me, last semester!”
Angie                           : “Oh, really? Last semester it was!”
Udin                             : “Please don’t talk about it, shall we?”
Angie                           : “Ok, ok, now we are going to talk about the making of this band, umm…. The story behind this band, I mean. How did you finally decide to form a band?”
Wahyu                         : “As what you’ve known, Angie. We used to be classmates and we found out that we have the same interest, the same favorite genre of music….”
Yayak                          : “Typical”
Angie                           : “What do you mean by typical, yayak?”
Yayak                          : “Yeah, started with spending our time in ormawa sastra and playing the guitar, then we found out that we have a common interest, therefore, we started to jam regularly. We rent a studio in Griyashanta and we finally decide to form Three Mas Kenthir”
Angie                           : “And what is your genre, actually”
Wahyu                         : “We have soul-funk music, but we can go groovy sometimes. We put on a spirit of Jazz in every our music”
Angie                           : “Jazz it is! That’s great! You know, our youth is mostly influenced with K-Pop girlbands, boybands, and Japanese Idol Groups, but you dared yourselves to lit up Jazz among them”
Yayak                          : “Our purpose is not to try to defy the mainstream, but to remind them that Jazz can be amazing too”
Angie                           : “Aww… that’s great. By the way, who wrote the lyrics of these five songs?”
Udin                             : “I did”
Angie                           : “Wow, that’s great. Well I have heard that you are good in writing”
Wahyu                         : “Who else do we have to trust? He is an asset indeed”
Angie                           : (laughs) “Ahaha, ok. But, looking on the five titles you wrote, here we have “Penantian panjang”, “Layar Putih Biru”, “Empat abjad pertama”, “Menghilang tetiba”, and “Tiga menit untuk 12 Jam”. Wow. Such poetic titles. I wanna find out, what are your songs mostly about?”
Udin                             : “Well, when you hear the titles, you may think that it’s kinda love songs that are emotional or containing tearful lyrics, but in fact, they’re not”
Angie                           : “So, what it is about?”
Udin                             : “Hmm, we are going to be non-mainstream. Instead of talking about love, our lyrics talk about student madness!”
Angie                           : “Waw! Student madness? About how it feels to be a college student? Great!”
Yayak                          : “Yeah, Angie, we’re fed up with the same topic of millions of songs in the world. Love, love, love, and love. Isn’t there any other topic to be talked about?”
Wahyu                         : “I don’t think that there have been songs talking about college life. We know that it is not easy to be accepted in the university, therefore, being a college student is somehow an achievement. Aside of that pride of pursuing a higher education, there are some stressful experiences and exciting stories on taking the courses, doing the assignments, and of course, the final phase, on doing the thesis”
Udin                             : “Yeah, that’s good. And I do hope that people will appreciate us for being different”
Angie                           : “Waw, guys, you are making a breakthrough. Udin, can you tell me about each songs, what do they talk about?”
Udin                             : “Penantian panjang” tells about a class waiting for the lecturer to come. It is common to see lecturers coming late to the class without telling the students before, rite? (Angie: Yes, indeed), “Layar Putih Biru” tells about distractions students have when doing their assignments, which is, social media. Facebook, you know, “Lima abjad pertama” tells about the A, B, C, D and E grades that students may get on their finals, “Menghilang tetiba” tells about lecturers who likes to be absent without any prior information, and “Tiga menit untuk 12 Jam” tells about students’ habits to cook instant noodle for their brunch or dinner”
Yayak                          : “Udin is talking about his own habit actually. He consumes many packs of instant noodles per week. No matter it is in the beginning of the month”
Udin                             : “Stop it, yak. That’s my favorite. If you don’t like it, have it your way”
Yayak                          : “I’ve told him that it’s not good!”
Angie                           : “ahahahahaa, that’s great!! It is rare to see themes like these on songs. Ok, sastrafellas, if you want to request your favorite songs, just text us on 0814848484848 by typing your name, location, the song you request, and whom you are giving your hello to. Now let’s see who have been texting us. Oh here it is. We have Fery in Klaseman, he wants Yellowcard’s song How I go. He says hello to Bita, please work on the proposal. Also, here we have Ghany in Suropati street, requesting Endah and Rhesa with Cinta Dalam Kardus. He gives his hello for Yogi, please contact the keynote speaker for our Legislative Talkshow. And here is another message from Wildan, requesting Maroon 5’s Payphone. This song is for Fenty, please give me the certificate. Woow. Still many messages to read. Let’s listen to these songs requested. Stay tune on 162,88 MHz Sastra Radio Mboizzz Polll…..”

I'm no longer highly-spirited for welcoming it, but.......

Mm, firstly, I wanna say... HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!
May this 2014 brings us betterment, amiiiin....

The good news is that I got A for my thesis :) And this semester seems to be my greatest semester because my GPA finally reached 3,87!!
Mm don't be amazed. I only take 18 CREDITS and most of the courses have big credit units, therefore it's not quite a hard thing to achieve that high grade.

Saying thank you in all languages won't be enough to thank my advisor :)

Mm, dear, I wanna tell you something.

Yeah, this is january. I used to welcome it enthusiastically. If you read this and this , (waaaa I'm kinda shy to read my old posts xD), and any other posts I wrote regarding to this beautiful lady. Yeah, I have mentioned her name in this blog a lot, like a lottttt.

5 days to go, Nji. Are you still spiritful for welcoming her birthday,
just like what you used to be?

I was a big fan of her. even it WAS ok for me to spend a lot of time, money, and energy to give her an impressing gift. Mm I can't recall what have I gave to her. I've been celebrating her birthday since 2007.

Dear, time passed by. My life has changed a lot. I have a lot of exciting activities that I fell into. Legato. DMF Sastra. Swinging Friends. As well as being a student of linguistics, that ends in a THESIS, which process was hard and tough.

Yeah, dear... I have transformed. I'm no longer in a high excitement towards her. Alhamdulillah.
I hope that it is an indicator of being mature. Although I know that seeking a maturity is indeed an endless journey. Life-long.
I realize that it is not good for an ex-student being a fan of a teacher like an otaku being a fan of anime and games, or like a wota adoring an Idol group. After contemplating the way I adore her, I admit and regret that I was such impolite back then :( I loved her like a wota loving AKB48. I admit that I was wrong.

What can I do to atone my image of being impolite on her?

Well I have to show her that I have transformed, I have realized that it was a mistake and I don't want to do the same thing again this year.
I want to show her that, "Ma'am, Alhamdulillah, I'm already in the last term of my study. I will graduate very soon. Therefore, I have to be more mature also"

No more silly poems. She won't enjoy it, instead, she will see me as a weirdo. No more self-made colorful cards. No more showing off my work.
Yes, I'm no longer as spiritful as what I used to be. Life has to change and I'm thankful for that.

But does it mean that I have to ignore january 9th?
Mm, no. I have to tell her these good news: passing the thesis exam and gaining my highest GPA ever.
I have to tell her that I'm going to graduate very soon.

Well, although the excitement has reduced this high, but she's my teacher that I have to respect. I still have to let her know that I'm still alive and improving :)

Bismillah, hope that I can show her a better image of myself.
